Patrick Thelen
I was born in Santiago, Chile, and started to play the violin at the age of 6.
I completed my conservatory studies at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Latin America’s top university, according to the QS World University Rankings.
As a student, I received numerous awards in Chile and the United States. Some of these recognitions include a scholarship for promising violinists from Santiago’s Municipal Theater, the most prestigious venue for stage performing arts in the city. I also received financial awards from Michigan’s Interlochen Center for the Arts.
In addition to my musical background, I previously worked as a reporter and as a corporate communications consultant. Additionally, I earned a Ph.D. in Mass Communications at the University of Florida, and worked as a professor at San Diego State University.
Although I enjoyed my life in communications, music has always been my calling, and am now working as a full-time violinist. I am a firm believer that life is about doing what makes you happy and that you should always stay true to yourself.
